Conjunctivitis comes in two ‘brands’: infectious (bacterial or viral) and allergic (non-infectious and caused by irritants such as smoke, dust, pollen or pet hair). It’s a sticky customer, oozing in a range of shades, glueing eyelids together and causing bad tempers all round.
